The Family Justice Law Center

In September of 2011, Imperial County was one of 5 counties in California selected to receive technical assistance and support to develop a Center to best provide services and make an impact on family violence in our communities.    In October our Learning Exchange Team, Amanda Occhiuto (ICOE), Judith R. Klein-Pritchard (CFS), Maricela Solorzano (Victim Witness), Debra Owen (DDA), and Dee Dee Guillory-Chavez (Survivor Representative), attended a 2 day conference in San Diego to exchange ideas and information with other counties.  On January 5th and 6th 2012 the Imperial County Learning Exchange Team sponsored a Strategic Planning Event for the future Imperial County Family Justice Center.  All professionals from all disciplines and backgrounds and the community at large were invited. We had attendees from law enforcement, Behavioral Health, CPS, APS, Project Juntos, and the faith community to name a few.  Our special guest lecturer and educator was Phil Eastman of the Leadership Advisors Group (http://www.leadershipadvisors.com/index.php/consultants/phil-eastman/) who specializes in strategic planning.  It was a HUGE success!
